Brianna Danielle (born Brianna Danielle Ruelas; March 19, 2006) is an American singer and actress.

In November 2010, Danielle signed a deal with Alfred Records. She rose to fame in 2011 with the release of the single "Teenage Dream" from her debut album, Teenage Dream, was preceded by the US Billboard Hot 100 chart-topping singles "California Gurls'" and "Firework", and later produced the number-one singles "E.T", "Part of Me", and "Wide Awake". The album became the first by a artist to produce six number-one Billboard Hot 100 songs. She released her second and first country studio album, Blown Away in 2013. Her third studio album, Artpop, saw her return to pop and electronic dance music in 2014 and included the number-one singles "Dark Horse" and "Roar". In 2015 Danielle released her second country studio album, Pageant Material. In 2017 Danielle released her fifth studio album Witness. In 2019 Danielle released her sixth studio album, when the party's over.

Danielle has received many awards and nominations, including ____ Grammy Awards. She's also been included in the Forbes list of "Top-Earning Women In Music" for 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014.

Life and Career[]

2006-10: Early Life and Career Beginnings[]

Brianna Danielle was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to single mother Elaine Garcia at the time. Growing up she attended church with her family. Danielle began singing and dancing to Hannah Montana when she was about 2 to 3 years old. In July 2009, Brianna began performing in small clubs and in front of her family members, who really enjoyed her entertainment. She then auditoned to as backup dancer for Jesse Del Rey's Best of Both Worlds Tour and was choosen, she toured with Del Rey and then after the tour was over, she went to a studio and began recording some of her songs by herself. Still continuing to play small gigs everywhere, she finally caught the attention of some producers in Los Angeles. She was signed to Island Def Jam Music Group in October and was dropped two months later from the label. She continued working on her singing and dancing skills.

She signed to Columbia Records early 2010. Danielle had minor success prior to her breakthrough. On April 2010, Columbia Records released her 3-track EP entitled "Mannequin". The pop/rock songs were aimed at putting her out in the public and seeing what the reception was. She performed a few shows in small venues in California. The label didn't receive the feedback  they wanted and months later she was dropped by Columbia. 

2011-12: Breakthrough with Teenage Dream

While she had created some buzz with her EP, executives at Alfred Records were convinced that she could be a breakthrough star and signed her in November 2010. They immediately rushed her into the studio to begin working on new material. "Hot N' Cold" was released as a promo single for the album and climbed Billboard's Hot 100 charts to peak at number three. Danielle released her first single with Alfred, "Teenage Dream", on January 4, 2011, as the lead single from Teenage Dream. The track reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100. She released the second single "California Gurls" featuring singer Matt on February 15, 2011, and it topped the charts at number one. Released on March 8, 2011, Teenage Dream debuted at number two then the next week rose to number one on the Billboard 200. It received generally positive reviews from music critics. 

Danielle embarked on her first headlining world tour, the Teenage Dream Tour, from March 23, 2011 to April 2012. In April, "Firework" was released as the album's third single. It became the album's third consecutive number-one on the Hot 100. A remiced version of "E.T" featuring singer Matt was released at the fourth single from the album in July 2011. It topped the Hot 100 chart for five non-consecutive weeks, making the Teenage Dream the first album in history to produce four number one singles on the Hot 100. Brianna then took a four month hitaus from the charts from September to January 2012 as she was busy touring. "Part of Me" followed as the fifth single in February 2012, and it peaked at numeber one on the Billboard Hot 100. 

Brianna was nominated and won four GRAMMY Awards at the 2012 4th Annual Grammys. She won "Record of the Year: Firework", "Album of the Year: Teenage Dream", "Best New Artist", and "Best Pop Duo / Group Performance: E.T featuring Matt". "Wide Awake" was released at the sixth and final single from Teenage Dream in March and Danielle became the first female and only artist to achieve six number one Hot 100 songs from one album when it topped the Billboard Hot 100.

2013: Television Debut

Brianna Danielle made her television debut on May 17, 2013 on the sitcom Good Enough, where she plays the role of Susie's (Ela!ne) crazy daughter. Danielle didn't physically appear until episode 4 "Sleepover" because in  episode 1 the character of Susie gives birth to Peggy Hills her first child, and Danielle's character is a baby and toddler until episode 4 where time has passed and she's finally big enough. Good Enough received critical acclaim in it's first season that reached the highest-rated program of 2013.

While winning the "Artist of the Year" award at the 2012 American Music Awards in November, during her acceptance speech Danielle stated she was working on her new album.

2014: Artpop[]

New songs for Danielle's fourth studio album, Artpop, were "beginning to flourish" as she worked with producer Fernando Garibay in early 2014. Brianna's manager Jesse Alfred, said the singer began working on the project during the Blown Away Tour and promised new material consisted of "insane, great records".[113] Brianna herself explained that she yearned to make audiences have "a really good time" with Artpop, crafting the album to mirror "a night at the club".[114Brianna said in an 2014 interview for GQ Magazine, "Everything is being stepped up on my new album. I'm bringing you the best on this one," she also went on to say "The album is so energetic. It's crazy! When I was in the studio all I wanted to do was dance when I played them." The album was released on June 3, 2014.[115] It debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, becoming her eigth number-one album in the United States. Music critics were divided in their assessments of Artpop.[117] 

The album has thus far spawned two number one singles: "Applause" and "Dark Horse" featuring Johnny becoming Danielle's tenth and eleventh number one single on the Hot 100. Zedd produced EDM track "G.U.Y." was released as the third single from Artpop and peaked at number eight. The fourth single "Birthday" peaked at number two. The fifth single "Roar" peaked at number one and became Danielle's twelvth number one single. The sixth and final single "Gypsy" also peaked at number one and became the singer's thirteenth number one on the Hot 100.

Danielle embaked on the Goddess of Love World Tour in support of the album on June 2014. The tour took it's concept from her song "Venus". 

Brianna began to venture into business when she created and endorsed her first jewerly collection exclusively at Claire's, Wildflower. The jewerly line featured necklaces, glasses, rings, headbands, and more that was released in stores and online August 12 through Claire's. To continue her acting career, Danielle signed up for the second season of Good Enough, that will premiere September 27th on FOX. Danielle confirmed that she is making her broadway debut next year in the musical Burlesque, with costars GRome and Jesse Del Rey

Brianna received six nominations for Artpop, (ten in total including nominations for the album Blown Away) at the 2014 Grammy Awards, and won three (five including awards won for album Blown Away) for "Record of the Year: Applause", "Best Pop / Duo Group Performance: Dark Horse featuring Johnny", and "Best Dance Recording: Applause". Brianna won three awards for her music video "Dark Horse" at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards for Video of the Year, Best Collaboration, and Best Female Video, where she also performed a boxing inspired "Roar". Danielle performed "Gypsy" at the 2014 Country Music Awards, where she won her first three CMA's for: Album of the Year "Blown Away", Female Vocalist of the Year, and Single of the Year "Blown Away". Brianna performed a medley of her Artpop singles ("Applause", "Dark Horse", "Roar", "Gypsy") and included Burlesque's lead single "Ray of Light" as the opening at the 2014 American Music Awards.

2015-16: Burlesque and Pageant Material[]

When ended, Burlesque became the highest grossing musical and theater production of all time. While on the cover of Nylon Magazine Danielle discussed that she would be taking a short break from music (her consistent release of four albums since 2011). She also provided guest vocals on "Bang Bang" with Ela!ne and Drea Von D, the second single from Ela!ne's fifth studio album Sweet Talker (2015).[88] The song debuted at No.1 in the US and other countries. She also collaborated with Jesse Del Rey on the No.1 single "Fancy", they performed the song together at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards; she also performed "You Belong With Me", the lead single from her second country album Pageant Material which was released on September 4. On October 2, Danielle performed at the 2015 Apple Music Festival. Where she announced the Rock This Country Tour, and also admitted she never rehearsed for the show, or even knew the setlist because she was so busy. That just made critics praise her even more, saying she brought more energy than Drea Von D's pop's set.  

In 2016 she attended various award shows. At the 2016 Grammy Awards Danielle took home 2 awards for Best Country Solo Performance "Mama's Broken Heart", and Best Country Album "Pageant Material". At the 2016 Billboard Music Awards and won the following awards: Top Country Artist, Top Country Album "Pageant Material", and Top Country Song "Mama's Broken Heart". Brianna also attended the 2016 Country Music Awards on November 2, and won three awards in the following categories: Single of the Year "Mama's Broken Heart", Female Vocalist of the Year, and Music Video of the Year "Follow Your Arrow".  

On October 19, 2016 Brianna teased her debut fragrance Candy, in which had been in development since early March. The perfume hit shelves and was available worldwide on November 7, 2016. The Ad featured Danielle in pink hair. Brianna Danielle performed at the 2016 iHeart Radio Jingle Ball, where she performed several of her hits including her rendition of "Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town" and "Santa Baby".  

2017-18: Witness, Super Bowl LII Halftime Show, and The Others[]

In May 2017, Danielle returned to the pop music scene when she collaborated with Johnny on his single "Me, Myself, & I". Brianna released the lead single "Me 2" from her upcoming fourth major pop release and sixth studio album, on July 21, 2017. The song peaked at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100. Danielle performed the single at the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards. The second single "Swish Swish" featuring rapper Ela!ne was released September 22, 2017. On September 28, 2017 Danielle performed a benefit concert at Radio City Music Hall In New York with all proceeds benefiting the victims and families affected by Hurricane Harvey  

The third single "The Cure" was released on November 3, 2017. Danielle performed the single at the 2017 American Music Awards. On November 24, 2017, Brianna Danielle released her sixth studio album, Witness, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200. Brianna returned to perform at the 2017 iHeart Radio Jingle Ball. The Cure, peaked at number 2, then rose to number one following the singer's Super Bowl 52 halftime show performance. It became Danielle's 9th number one in the US.  

Brianna Danielle performed as the headlining act during the Super Bowl LII halftime show on February 2, 2018. She then announced the Witness World Tour which begins in March and finished August 26, 2018. The show was planned to be filmed in New York City at Madison Square Garden but was shut down as Danielle did not want to release the show on film or an live album for that matter. When ended August 26, the tour became the 3rd highest grossing tour of all time and Brianna's highest grossing tour.  

On August 17, 2017 Danielle posted on Instagram that she had begun working on her seventh studio album.  

2019-now: Cry Pretty, Mamma Mia! & Hocus Pocus

On January 4, 2019 Brianna surprisingly released "bellyache", the lead single off her seventh studio album.

In her musical career, Brianna Danielle has won 25 Billboard Music Awards, 18 American Music Awards, and 10 MTV Video Music Awards. At the 2019 Billboard Music Awards, Brianna was awarded the first Icon Award.

Brianna Danielle has won a total of four awards for her acting; 3 Emmy Awards, two for "Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series" for her portrayal of Peggy Hills in the sitcom Good Enough and one for "Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series" for her portrayal of Alex Marksbury in the horror tv show The Others. She also won 1 Tony Award for "Best Lead Actress in a Musical" for her performance in Burlesque.

Personal Life[]

In 2014 Danielle was named the youngest highest paid musician (at the age of 8) in Hollywood by Forbes Magazine with earning an estimated $915 thousand. In 2015 Brianna Danielle became the first millionaire. 

Drea Von D Feud (2017-2018)

A feud began brewing between Brianna and American singer Drea Von D in 2017 when the media and sources were saying Von D, was the new "it" girl, due to Drea's gain in popularity with her Dangerous Woman (2017) album and tour with many comparing her success and high note vocals to Brianna Danielle.  

"Ela!ne" - Brianna Danielle and Ela!ne formed a relationship in 2012 when the two then starred together on the 2014 sitcom Good Enough for two seasons. Brianna described the two's relationship as big and little sister. In 2017 Ela!ne was seen in the studio with Brianna Danielle, reportedly Drea Von D paid Ela!ne even more than Danielle to get Ela!ne to appear on the singer's song, Ela!ne saying she didn't like the song personally but "business is business".  

"Swish Swish" - The 2017 single was reportedly a diss track about Drea Von D, with lyrics such as "Keep calm honey, I'mma stick around for than a minute". In the accompanying music video, Brianna has a one-on-one basketball match against another female who the media and many fans speculated highly resembled Von D.  

Brianna and Drea were seen disinterested during each other's performances at the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards. At the 2018 AMA's the two were photographed together on the red carpet, officially squashing their beef and Drea admitted to working in the studio with Brianna. In 2019, the two went on a joint-tour together, Brianna X Drea World Tour.
